Training in fresco painting on walls :
During this workshop, you'll create a personal fresco on a pastoral theme in dialogue with the spirit and architecture of the gorgeous Belloc Abbey and Basque region. You'll be introduced to buon fresco, painting on fresh lime coating, through 6 days of practice on the exterior walls of the modernist-style abbey church of Belloc overlooking the beautiful countryside. A theme with multiple dimensions (poetic, pictorial, musical or spiritual), the pastoral theme can be approached literally or symbolically, figuratively or abstractly. This workshop will allow you to grasp notions intrinsically linked to mural art. You'll prepare a model of your fresco, mix and lay mortar and coating, and paint a fresco on the wall of the church's exterior ambulatory that looks over the Basque hinterland.
