Association, a nonprofit organization
Pari(s) Affresco, founded by artist Isabelle Bonzom, is a not-for-profit organization which promotes and teaches the art of fresco.
Fresco, also called buon fresco, has been practiced since Antiquity, yet has been regularly threatened with extinction. In fact, fresco painting is highly pertinent in today’s world as this technique is uniquely respectful of the environment.
The association defends the interests of fresco painting, an art and a technique rediscovered and reinvented in Paris at the beginning of the twentieth century, then spread around the world thanks to artists who had lived in Paris, such as Jean Charlot and Diego Rivera. Thus, fresco painting is part of French culture and of the world’s heritage.
Pari(s) Affresco organizes educational and cultural events focused on fresco and the production of fresco paintings. Activities include the following:
. talks and lectures
. guided visits of fresco sites
. fresco workshops
. participation in art and heritage fairs
. creation of fresco paintings through its artist collective
The organization’s board is chaired by Eva Bovier-Lapierre.
The treasurer of Pari(s) Affresco is Marie-Cécile Graillot.
The secretaries of the board are journalist Marie-Christine Bonzom and graphic designer Nathalie Ouaknine
