Collective of frescoists
The purpose of the Pari(s) Affresco association is to promote and educate about buon fresco, the art of painting on a wet coat made of lime and sand. The organization also fosters the creation of fresco paintings.
Pari(s) Affresco is a collective of artists which creates frescoes, whether inside or outside buildings, for private spaces (corporations and private individuals) and for public spaces (schools, railway stations, office buildings, etc.).
Artist members of the collective come from various professional backgrounds and have been trained in buon fresco by Pari(s) Affresco founder Isabelle Bonzom.
Isabelle Bonzom studied at the fresco workshop of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She has taught the art of buon fresco since 1991, first at the International Center of Mural Art in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Romanseque Abbaye Church of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe (western France). Then, Isabelle Bonzom has taught buon fresco since 2005 at the École Duperré of the City of Paris where she trained the other members of the collective of frescoists.
All fresco members of the collective are dedicated to the specificities of buon fresco which they practice without any nostalgia and in a spirit of experimentation, as they explore all the potential of this pictorial language.
